So, You’ve done what you’re supposed to do. You’ve been working. You’ve taken care of your family. Or, you’ve been on your own. Your kids are grown with families of their own. You’ve always wanted to travel. Not sure how you can. What do you want to do? Maybe, we’ve got some ideas for you. We both worked most of our lives. Got Married. Raised kids. Kids went to school. They got married. Moved away. Had kids of their own. Grandkids are involved in their own things. What are you going to do now? What have you always wanted to do? Our kids went to college in totally different directions in two different states. Neither of them came back home. Both have children of their own. Both are busy with their own lives. We decided it was now our time. We love our kids and grandkids. We miss some time with them. But, when we lived close , we’d sometimes go months without seeing them because of their busy lives, school, work, friends, their activities and our activities. Now, when we get together it’s more quality time and they’re happy to see us. We want to encourage you and show you what we did and how we’re doing what we’re doing. For us, we wanted to spend more time together and do more fun things including travel. And, honestly, we were tired of snow and cold winters. We lived in Ohio. We looked in several places, then quit our jobs and moved to the Florida Panhandle. The plan was for Dave to start his home improvement business and the two of us work together. After a few months, we weren’t making enough money. We both went to a temporary job placement company and ending up working in the same place. Dave continued to build his home improvement business up to where he could quit that job. Robyn stayed there 11 years which created a more steady income and provided health insurance for us. But, again that wasn’t the plan when we made that move. So, we quit that and became house parents at children’s homes where we could work together. Rewarding, but exhausting. So, after a few years, we quit that and started full-time in our RV workcamping and volunteering at non-profit Christian organizations. Full time RVing seems to be what is working for us now. We’ve found that we can travel together. We can find workcamping jobs to create extra income. We can volunteer at locations that provide us no cost campsites. We can take time off from working and spend some time at an R V resort and refresh for a while. And, we can take time off and spend it with family, including grandkids that seem pretty happy to see us. SO, HOW DOES THIS RELATE TO YOU? For you, WHAT’S NEXT? Kids gone? No kids? Married? Single? Retired? Still working, but you can work remotely? We can provide you with many resources, including ours and other people’s experiences, to help you. At least, we hope to give you inspiration as you follow us. We started out, mostly, by jumping off a cliff, figuring things out and watching people do what we wanted to do or something similar. We’ve been learning how to use YouTube, Instagram and Social Media to share our experiences. Including how to take, edit and post videos. How did we learn this? At a volunteer work project, we met a couple, who we’ve become good friends with, that teaches people how to do some of this. Coincidental? I don’t think so. We’ve come to enjoy traveling with them. Spending time together and learning from each other. Believe it or not, we’ve actually been able to teach them a few things. Staying home and growning old before our time is not what we’re meant to do. SO, FOR YOU…WHAT’S NEXT?
