We sat still for 3 months in Foley Alabama. Too long normally for us however we enjoyed spending time with friends and family and visiting our home church.
We left Anchors Aweigh R V Park, to go to our next SOWER https://sowerministry.org/ project in Midway Georgia. Since we don’t like to travel long days in the R V we were graciously allowed to overnight at the Florida Sheriff’s Boys Ranch https://www.youthranches.org/.
When we travel, when possible, we spend time with family and old friends ,explore new areas and meet new friends. While in Foley, we were about an hour or so from our younger son’s house and got to spend time with him and his family and celebrate our grandson’s birthday. In Foley we were also about an hour from our home church and friends there and got to spend time with them and have a weekend getaway. And, some Ohio friends were in Florida for a few days and we were able to meet up with them. We also enjoyed the Foley area and the R V park activities.
When we left Alabama, we were able to spend a couple nights at the Boys Ranch. We were house parents there a few years back and also did a couple SOWER projects there so, again, we got to visit with some friends there.
In this post, I’m sharing many pictures of places we visited and things we got to do. I hope to encourage you to visit and enjoy new places as you physically can. We left Ohio and moved to Florida, probably earlier than most people would have, because we wanted to do it while we still could. Then we started RVing, then eventually full-time RVing, because we wanted to do more. More of life.
SOWERS and Workcamping was a way we could financially travel, give back and stay busy.
Our plan this year, after leaving Foley is a SOWER volunteer month in Georgia, the next one in Pennsylvania, followed by one in upstate New York and then workcamping for 4 months in Vermont. After that, we haven’t decided yet, but it will be somewhere warm. The next year, we hope to do the West Coast.
So, here’s a bunch of pictures. Maybe you’ll see something interesting here.

Here’s a few more pictures.

This is a glimpse of our three month stay in “lower Alabama”. Soon we’ll share more from our new locations.
